Welcome to mamaloves.ca! Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read this blog. I want this blog to be three things: honest, helpful and interesting. Now that I am home with two mostly uncommunicative girls all day I hope to build a community of friends who can share thoughts and ideas about being a woman, a mother and a wife. If you like what you see and are interested in following my blog, please subscribe to my feed. Not sure how to do this? A fellow blogger at Simple Mom has written a very useful and helpful guide here.

If you are not interested in subscribing to the feed, support me by visiting the site often for the latest up-dates. Be sure to say hello and feel free to agree or disagree with my ideas. Just remember, there is a person sitting on this end, excited and anxious to hear what you have to say. Please don’t be mean or belittling. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts and insight.

How beautiful your blog is….bellissima! About teething, a homeopathic remedy used in France is amber. The babies wear an amber necklace to ease the pain.

Hello mothers,

Does anyone have any advice to share on keeping baby comfortable when he or she has a cold? My little boy, Henry, is 10 weeks old and experiencing his first cold. He’s still a happy guy and no fever, but he’s pretty congested and has a bit of a cough. I’ve been using saline drops and a nasal aspirator to keep his nose clear and I’m keeping the air in his room moist with a warm-air vaporizer. I’ve also put a pillow under his mattress so he is sleeping with his head elevated. Does anyone have any wisdom to share? Nadja

Poor little Henry. If he is only congested it sounds like you’re doing everything right. My girls had the same thing at around ten weeks and I found they needed extra cuddles and needed me more. I remember how hard it was to listen to them try to breathe. I think it’s harder for us than it is for them. You are doing everything you can. It will end soon. I promise. Any other advice mama’s?
p.s. I’m so glad you asked this question. You have inspired me to look into creating a forum on this blog so that you can ask questions and have other lovely mama’s offer advice. Stay tuned!
